Grand Rapids Gold Announce 2023-24 Coaching Staff

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (Aug. 30, 2023) - The Grand Rapids Gold, the NBA G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, have announced their 2023-24 Coaching and Basketball Operations Staff.

Andre Miller returns to the Gold for his 2nd season as Head Coach. Prior to the Gold, Coach Miller enjoyed a 17-year playing career in the NBA, including two stints with the Denver Nuggets. He currently sits fourth in Nuggets' history with 2,978 assists.

Travess Armenta returns to the Gold, this time as Associate Head Coach. Armenta began his career in the NBA with Sacramento and Denver before joining the Gold's staff in 2021. He spent last season working with Nuggets' Draft Pick Ismael Kamagate in France.

David Adkins joins Grand Rapids as an Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development. Adkins has 30 years of coaching and player development experience including DeMatha HS, Maryland basketball, the Washington Wizards and Portland Trail Blazers.

Jimmie Oakman brings a wealth of G League and NCAA experience as an Assistant Coach to Grand Rapids. He spent the last two seasons with the College Park Skyhawks after spending four years on staff with the Long Island Nets and Boston University.

Riley Welch joins the Gold as Video Coordinator after working with Kentucky as a Graduate Assistant for the past two seasons, focusing on primarily player development and video.

Matt Tynes begins his professional career as Basketball Operations Assistant / Player Programs after playing football at Harvard while also serving as a manager for their women's basketball team. He previously interned in finance with the Boston Celtics.

Aziz Leeks joins the Gold as a Player Development Associate after spending the last two seasons as a Graduate Assistant with Santa Clara University. Prior to beginning his coaching career, the Las Vegas native played professionally after graduating from the College of Idaho.

Amit Tailor will join the Gold as Equipment Manager / Manager of Basketball Operations after spending the last year with the Houston Rockets. The Yale grad has spent the majority of his career in college with Clemson, Santa Clara and Florida basketball programs.

Dr. Laura Marshall will return to the Gold for her second season as Head Athletic Trainer. Marshall received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at High Point and interned with Olympic Sports and Spine as well as EXOS.

Papis Sambe returns to the Gold for his second season as Strength and Conditioning Coach after stops in the NCAA with Oregon and Texas Tech. He began his career leading off-season NBA player workouts.

Daniel Aube begins his professional career as Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Gold. He spent last year on an Athletic Training Fellowship with Kentucky where he helped with football, rifle, and stunt.
